Even though mum was not her normal self due to her illness, we had some good laughs because she always said to me on the phone ‘ah, what, I can’t understand what your saying because your talking to fast.

When we got to out luxury resort in Rhodes the first things coming out of all 3 of them were ‘ah, what’ so I said ‘Right no more ah’s or what’s, that became our holiday saying throughout the two weeks followed by ‘That’s nice’ by Mrs Brown.  Anyone that watches that knows what I’m talking about.

I realised on that holiday how much I was so much like my dad, spending quality time with mum brought back memories of things we used to do that you seem to forget over time.  It is and will be the most treasured and pleasurable time I have spent with her in years that I will never ever forget.

The funniest time was when the wind blew Jimmy’s hat into the freezing cold pool and he went in fully clothed to retrieve it.  I said to him when he came out dripping went ‘was it cold’ and he replied ‘I don’t know, I had my clothes on’ that had me in stitches and it was good to laugh.
